Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil are currently on pace to smash their goal on Kickstarter. Taylor, the 55 year old singer, songwriter, and film producer is no newbie to crowdfunding. Back in October of 2010, he raised over $345,000 to produce Blue Like Jazz: The Movie.
Before I get to far into their campaign, you have to watch their video. Not very many funny videos pop on on Kickstarter but when they do, I absolutely love them. Steve not only does a parody of himself [needing a rocker license] but he goes on to simulate a very real visit to the DMV that all of us can relate to.
His campaign pledge goals are also very well priced. Priced at only $8, you can get his entire album via digital download. I am well aware we live in a world that is now run by illegally downloading music but a certain point, you have to continue to support great artists or they will not be able to continue producing great hits.
I also love the credibility he brings. He’s successfully funded a previous Kickstarter project and for the most part had very satisfied backers. I look forward to tracking this project and it’s success. As of now Kicktraq has it trending to $173,000 in backer donations. Where do you think it will go?
